CELLO 360

Works by Marais, Rameau, Grieg, Chaplin, Dutilleux, The Beatles…

Cellist Christian-Pierre La Marca’s first recording for naïve, Cello 360 offers a completely new, timeless journey through the multiple repertoires of the solo cello. From baroque music to electro, the French cellist reveals, through this cleverly matured transgender mirroring, an instrument with infinite possibilities.

Christian-Pierre La Marca presents here a very personal mirroring of baroque (for viola da gamba), modern and contemporary pieces, innovative for the instrument, exciting for the repertoire, stimulating for the performer and fascinating for the listener: Marais, Purcell, Telemann, Sainte-Colombe, Dowland and Rameau cross paths with Grieg, Chaplin, Dutilleux, Escaich, Ligeti, Casals, The Beatles and Sollima, as well as an electro creation created with Rayann and M. A.S. during the confinement of March 2020. “I like the transversal and multi-genre aspect of this record,” confides the cellist. I find it exciting to move from one piece of writing to another, to create links without any. It reveals the infinite possibilities of the instrument.”
